BIOGRAPHY

Dagmar Venus is a founding member of @19, a studio community in Paderborn that sees itself as a space for art, culture, media and new ideas. After studying architecture and economics, she now works as a freelance photographer and media designer. Dagmar Venus presents her work nationally and internationally in solo and group exhibitions. Among other things, she is a member of the organization team for open studios in Paderborn and the surrounding area, which is one of the ways she promotes the regional art scene. Dagmar Venus mainly focuses on artistic photography. A central theme throughout the photographer's work is abandoned, dilapidated, lonely places, forgotten corners and objects that she encounters on her forays with her camera. The works created there and with these motifs reflect man-made, but mostly deserted worlds. The compositions are quiet and calm: no loud colors, no traces of rapid movement - the cosmos of Dagmar Venus seems to stand still.
